Come From Away is a critically acclaimed, Tony Award-winning musical that tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 air passengers who were stranded in a small Canadian town in the immediate aftermath of the September 11 terrorist attacks. When US airspace closed, 38 international flights were unexpectedly diverted to Gander, Newfoundland, doubling the town's population overnight. Instead of turning them away, the residents opened their hearts and homes to the strangers—whom they affectionately called "come from aways"
